Jul 09 2009 - Tennessee National Raceway July 18th Fireworks
The Party starts July 18th as Tennessee National Raceway hosts the Southern Regional Racing Series Super Latemodels. "We are ready for the mud to fly", said Nathan Ottensmeyer, Promoter of the newly named Hohenwald, TN Speedplant.
Work has continued to go on at the approximately one third mile facility to prepare for opening day. Mr. Ottensmeyer mentioned some of the upgrades being done to the facility...new ticket booth, entrance sign, new website, along with general maintenance, "we painted the race track wall, gave the concession stand a good cleaning, and did a lot of bush trimming, weed eating and mowing. We also had our entire electrical system gone through to make sure our lighting was rock solid for race night." There are future plans for a racing themed playground for the kids, more building upgrades, a Go Kart Track and an entire resurfacing of the big track late in the year.
Classes being ran on July 18th will be:
SRRS Super Latemodels Open Wheel Modifieds Outlaw Steet Stocks Street Stocks Mini Stocks
-A practice will be held Friday the 17th for all race teams.
-Local Dirt Track Guru, Chris Hickerson, will be preparing the track for the July 18th race.
-Rules will follow very closely with other local tracks to allow racers to save time and money.

Aug 08 2009 - Nashville Dirt Track Nationals - Midwest All Star Sprints
The Midwest All Star Sprints are joining the our already Packed Nashville Dirt Track Nationals. Our exciting classes will include:
Open Wheel Modified - Championship - One night for all the Marbles Outlaw Street Stocks Modified Street Stocks Extravaganza Mini Stock Madness and The Midwest All Stars will be bringing there Fire Breathing Monsters the 410 Super Sprint Cars.
...and Dirt Track Ace Chris Hickerson will be preparing the Track so look for a Great Night of racing.

Please bring extra hot dogs for Dale Blaney as his rivals the Steel City Outlaw and "THE KID" look to Fatten up "Mr. Methodical" and strip Mr. Blaney of his Title.

Tennessee National Raceway Announcement
Track promoter Nathan Ottensmeyer, announced today that he will be stepping down from promoting the Hohenwald, TN facility effective immediately. Mr. Ottensmeyer stated that it was a decision made by he and his family for personal reasons. “This decision was carefully made and although difficult, it is the right decision for our family.” stated Mr. Ottensmeyer.
All currently scheduled events will be canceled while the raceway looks for new management.
*All race teams with pit spaces paid for will be issued a full refund this week. Questions can be placed at 931-933-8138.
